Weather Means Trash Collection Delays

Many things fell behind because of the snowstorm, including trash and recycling pickup in Charleston. With services canceled on Friday, crews were out Monday working on the canceled routes but quickly found that all of the snow still on the ground presented some challenges. The city stationed a garbage packer truck under I-64 along Pennsylvania Avenue, between Randolph and Virginia Streets yesterday and they’ll do the same today between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. All of the unfinished routes from Friday and Monday should also be picked up today. You might need to hang on to recyclables until normal Friday collection resumes this week.
