West Nile Found in Mosquitos in Kanawha County
It hasn’t impacted people yet, but mosquitos in Kanawha County have West Nile. Bureau for Public Health executive director Dr. Rahal Gupta says the virus was detected in mosquitoes in two different parts of the county. He says hundreds of mosquito traps are monitored statewide. So far no human cases of the virus. Remove standing water and be careful around swimming pools, that can become a breeding ground for mosquitoes. And keep the insect repellant handy.
