West Virginia does well in protecting older folks. The state ranked high in an in-depth analysis of states with the best elder-abuse protections, according to personal-finance website WalletHub. They ranked the Mountain State at No. 13 using 11 key metrics, including gross-neglect and exploitation complaints and the presence of financial elder-abuse laws. Nevada, the District of Columbia and Arizona were ranked as the top three.
