West Virginia’s elk population is increasing

Dozens of elk imported to West Virginia from Arizona will be reintroduced into the wild in just over a week. State officials say the elk will undergo a final health evaluation in the next few days. They’ll join 35 other elk previously acquired from Kentucky. The state’s elk population is expected to increase to more than one-hundred by this summer.
