Yeager Airport Ranks as One of the Worst

A travel website says Yeager Airport is one of the worst in the country. Frommers.com says the Charleston airport ranks 9th, mainly because of its precarious location on a flattened hilltop. The website also made mention of past landslides and called it dangerous because overshooting the runway could mean going over the edge. Terry Sayre, Yeager’s executive director, told the Gazette-Mail that the airport is safe, and that the rating is undeserved.
