Zika virus in pregnant woman

The state has its first confirmed case of the Zika virus in a pregnant woman. She’s the eight Zika case in West Virginia. The woman contracted the virus while on a mission trip outside of the United States. The woman’s pregnancy will be monitored by the Bureau for Public Health’s Office of Maternal, Child and Family Health because of the increased chance of birth defects.
