Zika Virus in WV
West Virginia health officials say the first case of the Zika virus has been reported in the state. State health officer Dr. Gupta says in a news release yesterday, the case involves an adult male from Clay County who traveled to Haiti. Gupta says the man no longer has symptoms and has made a full recovery. The mosquito-borne virus, which is spreading in Latin America and the Caribbean, normally causes only mild symptoms.
