City Council Member’s Phone Seized During Murder Investigation

Allegations against one of Charleston’s newest city council members. Charleston Police seized the cell phone of City Councilman Bernard Slater, Jr. after they received information saying he offered to lie in a murder investigation, saying he was a witness to a fatal drug overdose, that he actually wasn’t, according to WCHS TV. This involves the death of Melody Oxley earlier this year. There is a city council meeting tonight, and many wonder whether this will be addressed.
