After the EQT Corporation purchase of Rice Energy, the natural gas producer plans to nearly triple its daily volume. The deal for more than six-and-a-half-billion-dollars was announced yesterday. Right now, EQT produces just over a-billion cubic feet of natural gas in the Marcellus and Utica shale formations. That number could climb to well over three-billion cubic feet a day when the deal closes later this year.
