High Court to Weigh in on WV Lotto Construction Controversy
A dispute over a nearly $8 million state construction contract is returning to court. Wiseman Construction won the contract to renovate the West Virginia Lottery’s headquarters after the low bidder, MCS Construction was disqualified over an issue with references. Kanawha County Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Bailey overturned the decision in June and ordered state officials to give the contract to MCS because the process was flawed. The West Virginia Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments on Wiseman’s appeal on Wednesday.
