DOH Worker Killed in Brooke County
Police say a West Virginia Division of Highways flagger was killed after she apparently fell under a pickup truck driven by another worker. The Brooke County Sheriff’s Department identified the victim as 70-year-old Susan Custer of Wellsburg. Sheriff’s deputies told The Intelligencer and Wheeling News Register that the DOH employee driving the pickup truck didn’t see Custer and continued forward. Custer was pronounced dead at an area hospital. The accident occurred Tuesday in the area of State Route 88 and Willow Springs Drive.
