Layoffs Hit Nicholas County Sheriff’s Office

The Nicholas County Sheriff’s Office recently laid off 4 officers as it tries to trim $600,000 from the budget, and this week let another 4 officers go. The department is down to 18 uniformed officers now. WCHS TV reports state police are stepping in to help and taking more calls.
