Democrats Fueling Blankenship’s Latest Campaign
If former coal executive Don Blankenship is to end up on the ballot this fall, it will take a petition to make it happen. The Gazette-Mail reports registered Democrats make up the lion’s share of the petition to put Blankenship back on the ballot for U.S Senate in November with about 45 percent of the signatures so far. Blankenship was a former GOP candidate attempting to enter the race as a member of the Constitution Party after finishing third in a six-way Republican primary that went to Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. Both are trying to unseat incumbent Sen. Joe Manchin.
