New Website Launched for Feedback on Common Core
State school administrators have launched a new website to gather feedback on Common Core standards. The state Department of Education on Wednesday publisehed http://wvacademicspotlight.statestandards.org to allow you to read and comment on any of the over 900 math and English/language arts K-12 standards as the state tries to re-evaluate its approach. The Common Core-based standards only went into effect across all of the state last school year, and the comment website will be open through Sept. 30th. At that point the Charleston Gazette reports WVU will help organize two advisory groups, one for math and one for English/language arts, that will analyze the comments and make recommendations for changes in the standards to the state Board of Education.
