Warrant Sweep Nets 18 Arrests
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office came out of the gate quickly this week with a warrant sweep, and they cleared 20 outstanding warrants with 18 arrests. Chief Deputy Mike Rutherford says the Sheriff’s Office regularly conducts warrant sweeps, sometimes specifically focusing on family court capiases or domestic violence. This sweep was more broad and arrests were made for violent crimes, thefts, possession of a stolen vehicle, and grand larceny. More court dates are pending for the eighteen arrested.
