Tornado in Morgan County
Police say a tornado has touched down in West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle with some damage. Morgan County Sheriff Vince Shambaugh tells media outlets that he was driving near Berkeley Springs when he saw a small tornado touch down shortly after 4 p.m. yesterday. Shambaugh says the storm produced golf ball-sized hail and downed trees along its path. Shambaugh says the rain was so loud, “it sounded like someone was beating on the car.” The National Weather Service plans to investigate the tornado report.
