Disease outbreak

West Virginia is seeing an outbreak of hand, foot, and mouth disease. Since September, twenty cases have been reported. Pediatricians say that while there is no specific treatment, prevention is the best course of action. Doctors say proper handwashing and teaching children to cover their coughs and sneezes with their sleeves are key tools in preventing the spread of the illness. Once a child contracts the illness, the child should be kept home from school.
