Marshall Ceremony Today
The annual ceremony honoring those who died in the Marshall University plane crash takes place today at noon. The DC-9 jetliner slammed into a hillside just hundreds of feet from its destination in Kenova, West Virginia, on November 14th, 1970. All 75 people on-board lost their lives and Marshall University’s Student Government Association is once again putting together today’s service. The keynote speaker will be former Thundering Herd football player Dennis Foley. He had a football injury at the time, didn’t travel with the team and did not get on the plane.
