Taxes fall Short

West Virginia tax collections are falling short. The state’s new Revenue Secretary said Friday the numbers did not meet its monthly projection by nearly 20-million-dollars and more cuts to a proposed budget for the next fiscal year are likely. The state budget runs from July to July and so far, revenue has missed its estimate by close to 90-million-dollars. Legislators start working on a new budget in the coming weeks.
