Abaondoned Buildings to be Torn Down
More than a hundred abandoned structures will be torn down, after the plan was approved by the Kanawha County Commission. The new effort will demolish 114 abandoned and blighted structures as the county obtains a $500,000 loan through the West Virginia Housing Development Fund’s Property Rescue Initiative. To accomplish the goal, the commission will combine the $500,000 loan with $500,000 in building permit fees. The first home will be torn down Monday in the Cross Lanes area.
