Agency has eyes on pain clinic loophole
A year in to new state pain clinic rules, Responsible Pain and Aesthetic Management in Beckley is just the fifth licensed pain clinic in West Virginia. The facility had to take major steps to do so. Having failed two inspections , the clinic moved to a new facility and also was requikred to have a physician on hand delivering services who is a part owner. In this case, a one percent stake in the place was sold to a doctor. The state Department of Health and Human Resources sees that small percentage as a loophole, and something that may face change in the rules down the road.
