Charleston to Vote on Fireworks Ordinance Next Week
The city of Charleston is set to vote on the new fireworks ordinance next week. The Charleston City Council committee this week sent the proposed ordinance to the full council for a vote at its next meeting which is coming up on Monday. The ordinance follows in the footsteps of other cities including South Charleston that have enacted similar ordinances. Charleston’s would restrict personal firework use to five days a year: Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
