Child Protective Services Investigates After Kids Get Behind the Wheel

Deputies are investigating after a 5-year-old and 2-year-old got behind the wheel of a vehicle. The kids had to be taken to the hospital after the incident Monday in Red House. Putnam County deputies said they took the family car from their mother’s house on Bronco Junction Road. One child steered the vehicle while the other child pushed the gas and brake pedals before crashing into a ditch on Grandview Ridge Road. Both children escaped injury, but went to the hospital as a precaution. Child protective services and Putnam County deputies are investigating.
