Clendenin Elementary Will Have to Be Rebuilt
After damage from the June floods, one Kanawha County School will not re-open. The Kanawha County Board of Education announced Wednesday, the flooding damaged Clendenin Elementary so significantly, that they’ll have to build a new school in its place. WCHS TV reports 97 percent of the school was damaged by the flood. Starting next Monday, Clendenin Elementary students will share Bridge Elementary until portables arrive there in 30 to 40 days. There’s no location yet for the new school.
