County Clerk Dies Unexpectedly

Putnam County Circuit Clerk Ronnie Matthews has passed away. Matthews died unexpectedly Tuesday after heart surgery complications, and he’s survived by his wife and two sons. Stephanie Smith will take over the clerk position temporarily, and the Chief Circuit Judge will have thirty days to appoint someone permanently.
