Flood Declaration is Extended for Eight Counties
It was set to expire Monday at 5pm, but Governor Earl Ray Tomblin extended the State of Emergency for eight counties impacted by the floods. The counties include Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, Kanawha, Nicholas, Roane, Summers and Webster, and now resources can continue to flow with the extension. Lawmakers also got an update Monday on what’s been done across the state for flood relief. During an interim meeting at the West Virginia State Capitol, Major General James Hoyer with the National Guard filled lawmakers in.
