Florida Company to pay Fine to WV
A Florida company will be first to pay a fine under the West Virginia Jobs Act that was put in place more than 15 years ago. International Rigging Group was fined more than 34-thousand dollars for not hiring enough local workers after winning a bid to paint a bridge over the Kanawha River. The West Virginia Jobs Act says that out-of-state companies that win contracts from the state must hire at least 75-percent local workers.
