Group Comes to Charleston to Restore Flood-Damaged Photos

A nonprofit group that restores damaged photos is coming to West Virginia to help flood victims. Operation Photo Rescue President Margie Hayes says the group is scheduled to be at the Kanawha County Library in downtown Charleston on Friday and Saturday, then head to the Richwood Public Library on Sunday and Monday. The group says it will allow 20 flood-damaged photos to be restored per family. The families will keep the originals, and digital copies of the photos will be printed and shipped free of charge. The group has raised about $2,400 of its $3,000 goal to pay for the West Virginia project. The Gazette-Mail says volunteers have restored about 12,000 photos since 2006.
