Indicted DOH Worker Commits Suicide
Just a few hours after a former director of the West Virginia Division of Highway’s equipment division was indicted on federal racketeering charges, he committed suicide. Bob Andrew had been charged with 29 counts, alleging he used state resources, including workers and equipment, to engage in political activity on state time. The government also accused Andrew of bid-rigging by creating non-competitive bid specifications that favor particular vendors. His body was found Tuesday night in his car, and a suicide note was found inside. He was 77.
