Lawmakers approve funding
West Virginia lawmakers have approved funding to help pay for recovery costs associated with the deadly floods in June. The Senate approved legislation Monday morning to apply $85 million in state money. It passed 32-0 with two Senators not voting. House members approved the bill on Sunday. The bill includes $55 million from the Rainy Day Fund. Officials say FEMA with cover 75 to 90 percent of damages associated with the floods. State officials estimate the total flood recovery costs will exceed $339 million.
