Marshall Picks Finalists for President
There are meetings ahead for Marshall University students to learn more about their presidential candidates. Marshall University has released the names of the three finalists to be the school’s next president, and it includes Dr. Jerome A. Gilbert, provost and executive vice president of Mississippi State University, Dr. Christopher G. Maples, president of Oregon Institute of Technology, and Dr. Denis A. Wiesenburg, professor of marine science and former provost/vice president for academic affairs of the University of Southern Mississippi. Each finalist will visit the South Charleston and Huntington campuses next Tuesday through Thursday to meet with students and administrators, and anyone that wants to attend. Dr. Stephen Kopp passed away in December 2014, and the school has been without a president since then. The hope is to have a new leader in place in time for the spring semester.
