Nitro Passes Fireworks Ordinance
Fireworks restrictions are underway in Nitro now. The city is among the latest to restrict fireworks to certain days of the year. City council members in Nitro approved the ordinance that came after noise complaints and safety worries over a state law that allows anyone to buy commercial grade fireworks. The new restrictions in Nitro make it illegal to use fireworks within city limits except for four days: Labor Day, New Years Day, Memorial Day, and the Fourth of July between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Anyone caught breaking the rule will be fined $500.
