Pool Opening Could Be Delayed

A discovery now could keep a pool from opening in time for the first big swimming weekend of the summer. It’s a $200,000 that could delay the opening of the Wave Pool in Hurricane. Putnam County Commission President Joe Haynes says the usual Memorial Day Weekend opening may not happen because crews working on the liner project discovered major problems with the pool’s gutter system. WCHS TV says the county can use Tax Increments Financing funds for the repairs, but it will have to get permission from state Development Office first, which could cause delays.
