Raw Milk Investigation is Inconclusive

Due to limitations of their investigation, West Virginia health officials say they cannot conclude that drinking raw milk got anyone sick at the state Capitol. The Bureau for Public Health’s investigation found that Del. Scott Cadle clearly violated state law by handing out raw milk at the Capitol on March 3. The bureau didn’t impose penalties, but the investigation found three people went to urgent care or emergency room facilities after drinking the milk. Others reported stomach sicknesses without drinking milk. Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin had recently signed a bill letting people share milk-producing animals and drink raw milk. Selling and distributing raw milk will remain prohibited.
