Schools may not be ready for fall
School will be back in session in just over a month, but there are three schools that may not be ready for classes. The West Virginia Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management says one school in Clay County and two in Kanawha County sustained too much flooding to be ready for fall classes. H.E. White Elementary School, Herbert Hoover High School and Clendenin Elementary are still undergoing heavy cleanup efforts. Despite the report from the DHSEM, the superintendent of Kanawha County schools says his district still plans to be ready for classes on August 8th at Hoover High and Clendenin Elementary.
