Several Cited after Putnam County Compliance Checks
Compliance checks showed that some clerks and bartenders were selling alcohol to underage customers. Those cited were selling alcohol to underage customers at about 30 percent of the establishments targeted in a compliance check in Putnam County. The West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Administration and Putnam County Sheriff’s Office conducted the underage compliance checks in August, and Eyewitness News said out of the 54 establishments visited, 16 sold to an underage person. The Governor’s Highway Safety Program provided funding for the compliance checks.
