Teacher Walkout Continues Today
West Virginia Education Association President Dale Lee says the statewide teacher work stoppage will continue today because employees are not satisfied with results at the capitol and schools are closed again. Each county’s superintendent is making the call about school closures. Teachers from around the state flooded the West Virginia State Capitol on Thursday and Friday, and Lee said he expects they will do the same today. Lee, and other union leaders said they do not know how long the work stoppage will continue, but said they will evaluate their progress and negotiations on Monday to see what their next move will be.
