Toll Collector

Harry Roberts has worked as a toll collector for the West Virginia Parkways Authority for 35 years. He’s spent most of his career stationed at Barrier C, which marks the north entrance to the 88-mile West Virginia Turnpike. Part of his job is being nice to people. He says often toll collectors are the only ones motorists talk to as they travel through West Virginia, and he takes his role as a state ambassador seriously.
