Two Accused in Hatfield Murder Have Cases Bound to Grand Jury
Those accused in former coal executive Ben Hatfield’s murder are seeing their cases go to the grand jury. Anthony Arriaga will remain in jail without bond, and had his case bound over to a grand jury during a hearing Wednesday morning. Mingo County deputy Allen Mounts was the only witness to testify and he said that Arriaga had confessed to killed Hatfield and that he and Brandon Fitzpatrick had conspired to rob and kill Hatfield. Fitzpatrick also is charged with first-degree murder in the killing of Hatfield and WCHS TV reports his case too was bound over to a grand jury this week.
