Two Face Charges After Child Accesses Prescription Pills

Two people in Nicholas County are charged with child neglect after a 3 year old swallowed prescription pills. It happened March 5th, and 48-year old Junior Stewart II and 33-year old Melody Rae Stewart of Summersville were arrested. Police said the child took the medicine after easily accessing it, and fell ill. The child had to be taken to Summersville Regional Medical Center by ambulance and was later transferred to Charleston for treatment. The sheriff’s office is still investigating.
