Water Crisis Settlement Amount Could Increase
A new settlement is in the works for people who were affected by the water crisis. Federal Judge John Copenhaver wanted to adjust the first proposal, and the revised class-action lawsuit settlement is awaiting his approval. Eyewitness News reports the new settlement could mean more money for those affected. A simple claim would get you $550, plus $180 for each additional person in your home. A family of four would get $1,090. Businesses would get $1,875, and those that were forced to close by a health department also would get a percentage of their income.
Claim information could go out in the mail as early as September, and settlement checks would go out several months later.
