WV 1st state to train
West Virginia is the first state in the nation to provide specialized training for first responders on how to handle those with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The first class for police and fire personnel was held last night in Charleston. The Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute is teaming up with law enforcement agencies to put on the classes. The Alzheimer’s Association says the number of West Virginians with Alzheimer’s tops 37-thousand.
