WVU Tech Plans a Move to Beckley

Classes were canceled briefly Monday at WVU’s Institute of Technology so students there could attend a closed-door meeting with the WVU President Gordon Gee. Students and faculty learned the Montgomery school will be moving to the Beckley campus in two years. WVU is buying the Beckley campus vacated by the demise of Mountain State University, and questions had been raised about what to do with the two campuses since they’re only 40 miles apart. The West Virginia Board of Governors will also address the situation at an open meeting today in Morgantown.
